Horses for sale which I have recently worked on..
This a new horse which I have just finished and it will be my last new horse as I am now semi-retired. It is made from American cherry with an Ash stand and it has extra carving details. As seen in my price list it is normally £1650 but is a special price of £1200. More pictures are available if needed.
Sadie is a lovely G and JL Lines horse from the early 1900’s and sold by Gamages.
Jessie is a medium size horse by an unkown maker but it has a distinctive style very similar in lots of ways to an Ayres. The quality of the carving and other features indicate a date in the early 20th century. It has had a complete strip and restoration and finished in the correct period style and antiqued to suit. The stand hasn’t been stripped, just repaired and lacquered. Size 39inches high, Stand length 43 inches Body Length 21 inches £1000 now £850
Jenny is a Barker and Norton Rocking Horse probably from the early 1900’s and fully restored in the traditional way to fully working order. The Company made horses from 1890 to 1947 in Birmingham. This horse is as good and serviceable as new, yet has the investment potential of being an identifiable antique in the future. Size 35inches high, Stand length 44 inches Body Length 18.5 inches £850 now £750
Dulcie is a “Baby Carriages” Rocking Horse which is difficult to date but the company was formed in 1894 in Liverpool. They were owned by the same family as the renowned Collinson company. The Baby carriage horses tended to be better carved, with more attention to detail, though with obvious similarities to Collinsons. This horse is as good and serviceable as new, yet has the investment potential of being an identifiable antique in the future and has a pommel (removable) for young ladies to try riding sidesaddle.£1100
